Upper East Side Bistro, NYC

Designing for the same chef-owner of the bistro in Park Slope, RND set out to create a space for the Upper East Side bistro in keeping with the restaurant group's identity, but that would also present an aesthetic of its own. Working with the original brick walls, steal beams, and a central fireplace, RND created a design that could highlight the modern elements of these original structures and refer to the aesthetic history of New York dining. An abundance of oversize pendant lighting balanced the deep tones of dark wood, while light custom glass shelving offsets the heavier lines of the wood.
