Madison & 57th Headquarters - Photography by Gross & Daley

As the headquarters of a multinational firm, the offices at Madison Avenue and 57th Street needed a calm, peaceful and luxurious workspace that could speak to the company's identity. RND re-planned the entire space, removing all full-height walls to give a sense of openness and provide a natural flow around the entire office. Keeping individual offices on the periphery of the space, we created a central collaborative workspace and re-thought the cubicle, taking inspiration from classic library carrels.

Working with raw natural materials, we created custom furniture, like the signature front desk of bronze around a solid redwood base. The custom black walnut conference table, with its burnished bronze legs, inlaid striping and industrial-inspired jointing, evokes steel-and-glass architectural innovator Pierre Chareau. Reclaimed wood furniture adds subtle tones to the functionally designed individual offices, while the custom RND chandeliers and lamps add depth to the wood surfaces. Donghia furniture, placed to provide intuitive meeting and workspaces, completed the environment.
